I have seen a few pictures of one of my all time favorite designers Kate Spade and her RTW Spring 2014 collection! I have had an attraction to her designs since I first discovered her and this collection just might be my favorite yet. It is like she is reading my mind!!! Her designs look like they are for an Audrey Hepburn Barbie doll With a new age twist. The way that she groups her colors when matching her designs to show is amazing. It brings different occasion pieces together as if you are to wear them all in one day from an early morning shopping trip ~> to a Champaign brunch ~> then an afternoon FUNtivity… ~> then to a delicious dinner date ~> & all the way to an evening event.
Hey Kate! Hook me up please! 😉 My closet wants your whole new collection and accessories!
One Dress a Day a cool new online store I just found offers a new dress to wear every day of the year, that’s 365 dresses to choose from if they aren’t sold out. It is the first ever e-commerce site to release a totally new dress every day. The dresses are priced with a guilt free tag ranging from $149 to $229. The dresses are made in the US of A and are sold worldwide. Celebrities are seen wearing the dresses, including Vanessa Hudgens who seems to be quite the fan, as well as many others that you can find in the websites BLOG section. The designer finds inspiration for the dresses from styles and silhouettes of the past, which is a has been trending lately, with retro and vintage inspired pieces in the current fashion market with a twist of modern trends to make the old new again. The dresses are classy and chic, but not too dressy, they are fit to be worn “from desk to Dinner,” said by designer Bruno Schiavi. There is currently a 15% promo code available on the site and you can also get a 10% promo code when you sign up with your email to see the latest every day-to-day dresses. Check out the video below to see more and some behind the scenes footage of the online store and visit OneDressADay.com
Ahhh, what we have all been waiting for all year. Designers place their best and most artistic advertisements, hundreds of pages of layouts, and now almost every major fashion magazine is doing it. The September issue n the fashion world is like fashion week in your mailbox. So far I have to say that my favorite for this year 2013 is Harper’s Bazaar, with Sarah Jessica Parker doing her thing as usual on the cover. It also has a sophisticated spread of Miley Cyrus wearing couture dresses, with out sticking her tongue out, and by the way girl… Whoa at the VMAS, how will the Smith Family ever recover? Anyway, back to… There is also a great article called “The In Cloud”, which covers some of the worlds top designers Karl Lagerfeld, Alber Elbaz, and more including Donatella Versace who said, ”My cloud would be a big storm, one that no one could ignore.” I have included some pictures of the magazines issue but I highly recommend picking this one up. I cant wait to flip through the rest of them to come like Vogue, Glamour, InStyle, Lucky, Elle and more….
Through my searching again and again, I finally found the color of the year for 2014 named by Pantone… DAZZLING BLUE… I have actually seen this shade of blue in apparel retailers the past year, much more than the 2013 color of the year emerald. I have done some digging for the apparel report for women and men 2014 and haven’t found one yet (free anyway). I have found the pantone interior design color report, called “Techno Color” which consists of the colors Methyl Blue, Tillandsia Purple, Silver, Emerald, Majulica Blue, Dark Citron, & Jet Black. The color reports for fashion 2014 winter, spring, summer, and fall should follow some of the same colors as last year and the interior colors for 2014 in different hues and shade variations. I can’t wait to see the full fashion color report from Pantone. I have browsed around a bit on TrendStop.com and seen some themes of the past in prints, embellishments, and textile design for apparel 2014, such as the still growing holographic trend that was from the 90s club wear trend originally, and one of my personal favorites the 70s retro them.
Usually when a bee flies near, or a spider is in the same room as me I run out screaming. The new trend I found insect chic makes the creepy yet fascinating creatures of this earth actually seem beautiful (when they are not alive and crawling around). Designer Tory Burch has incorporated bugs in to her fashion line for fall, with beetle scarves and phone covers and more. Personally I love the jewelry trend with bumblebee earrings, scorpion rings, and a golden insect tiara. You can find these pretty insects from top shop, Bernard Delettrez, Pamela Love and more. There are thousands of designs found at etsy.com at decent price ranges and a huge selection of different insects to choose from. How to wear it: Take a simple outfit and play it up with the chic incest jewelry and accessories.
Dior has created a masterpiece designed from the fashion drawings of Andy Warhol. As pop-art being my favorite class of art this topic caught my eye and I have to gab about it. Dior’s Autumn-Winter handbag, which is a light blue color, plain calfskin (not quilted), with a gold leaf shoe design, one of Andy Warhol’s golden slipper works of art. The Purse has Dior’s signature DIOR letters on a ring hanging off the front right side handle. There is a whole line of Dior bags with Andy’s shoe designs on them! Price is available on request by calling the 1800 Dior Phone Number.
Dolce & Gabbaba has also dabbled in Andy Warhol’s Golden Slipper artwork and made a replica of the shoe its self. It is called the Filigree pump. Pricing is also per request.
It is great when fashion can be combined with one of the world’s creators of pop art. Andy Warhol’s influential shoe designs have finally made it to the runway.
For Pantone to declare Emerald to be the color of the year for 2013, I was extremely excited! Green is my favorite color and especially a true green such as emerald. I do have to day that I am a bit disappointed of the selection of fashions and accessories that are available in stores. Taking a walk through the Fashion Show Mall in Las Vegas I window shopped for hours and only seen a few items that were in the Emerald color that Pantone announced. I want to see more green! Maybe there will be a late 2013 burst of Emerald in stores for fall and winter fashions.
Currently I am seeing more blue hues with shades of gray, as well as the neon and metallic trends still hanging around. The prints on apparel are also dominating the market right now. I cant wait to see the racks merchandised with emerald green hues right now, but I guess I will have to wait, hopefully no longer than late summer.
